Purchased as a frame only about 7 years ago as it was in lovely condition. Decided to rebuild with a new Shimano 105 FC-5800 groupset to allow great riding on an older looking bike. As many new components as possible were used. The frame was made by the famous Dutch frame builder Jan Van Dalen, and retailed in Holland. As such it was authentically rebuilt with brake levers in the continental style - but these can easily be switched over. The bike is the Professional model and was made for serious club racers - hence the tab on the crossbar for a racing number. The bike has lovely variegated paintwork in red, white, and green in homage to Italy, along with several chromed features, and panto-graphs of the Van Dalen name. This bike today, and in this condition, is now pretty rare.
